Five Checks in Low Light: Judging Frames Before You Spend

After an hour of generating in a dark room, feelings are generous. A fixed set of checks is stricter and faster: five of them, run the same way every time, against the room list entry you wrote before the session began.

The five checks

1. Likeness. Is she the muse on the list, or a near relative? Judge against the list, not the previous frame.

2. Hands. Hands first, then joints, then anything the pose bends. Anatomy errors show at thumbnail size.

3. Light. One source, behaving consistently across skin, fabric and background — doubly important in low-light sets, where invented light is the first lie a frame tells.

4. Edges. Hair against drapes, fingers against props, lace against skin.

5. Purpose. Does the frame do the one job it was briefed for?

The threshold that saves money

Score each check out of two; eight of ten earns finishing spend — an edit at 21 credits, a swap at 26, an upscale at 61. Below eight, the frame returns to the generator at 6 credits, where correction is cheapest. Date the scores and keep them with the set.
